Crowned Heads is a Nashville, Tennessee-based boutique cigar company founded in 2011 by Jon Huber and Mike Conder, both veterans of the premium cigar industry. Known for their deeply personal approach to blending and their dedication to small-batch production, Crowned Heads has earned a devoted following among enthusiasts who appreciate craftsmanship, storytelling, and consistency. The Tennessee Waltz line is a tribute to the brand's Southern roots, reflecting the same soulful character that defines Crowned Heads as one of the most respected independent names in the modern premium cigar market.
Blend & Construction
The Crowned Heads Tennessee Waltz Toro is a Nicaraguan puro at its core, featuring a Nicaraguan binder and all-Nicaraguan filler tobaccos, anchored by a dark and oily Connecticut Broadleaf maduro wrapper. The Toro vitola presents at 6 inches with a 54 ring gauge, a format well-suited to showcasing the full depth of a maduro blend without rushing the experience. Connecticut Broadleaf is one of the most revered maduro wrappers in the world, prized for its natural sweetness, earthy richness, and ability to complement bold, full-bodied blends. Construction on Crowned Heads releases is consistently held to a high standard, with even fills, clean caps, and wrappers that burn evenly from first light to final inch.
Flavor Profile
The Tennessee Waltz Toro delivers a full-bodied smoking experience that opens with classic maduro characteristics — dark chocolate, cedar, and a pronounced earthiness — before revealing layers of espresso, leather, and a subtle natural sweetness that the Connecticut Broadleaf is known for imparting. In keeping with the line's profile, the smoke is rich and dense, with a long, lingering finish and a satisfying depth that rewards slow, deliberate puffing. Strength builds incrementally through the second third, making this a cigar that commands attention without becoming harsh or overwhelming.
