This deeply inviting and characterful southern Italian red wine displays a brilliant, intense ruby red color with elegant purple highlights. The bouquet is rich, warm, and highly expressive, opening with fragrant aromas of ripe black cherries, wild blackberries, and dark plums, beautifully layered with subtle notes of Mediterranean brush, licorice, sweet tobacco, and a hint of dark cocoa. On the palate, it delivers a medium-to-full-bodied structure with a generous core of dark berry fruit, perfectly counterbalanced by a balanced regional freshness. The mouthfeel is smooth, enveloping, and velvety, supported by soft, well-integrated tannins that carry into a long, savory, and pleasantly persistent finish with a characteristic touch of spice.
Food Pairing: Highly versatile, it pairs beautifully with grilled red meats, roasted pork loin, pasta with rich meat ragù, wood-fired pizza, and medium-aged cheeses.
