Produced in the Casablanca Valley of Chile, Ocio is the flagship icon of Viña Cono Sur, a winery that has established itself as one of the world's most significant Pinot Noir producers. Founded in 1993, the winery launched the 'Pinot Noir Project' in 1999, collaborating with Burgundian winemaker Martin Prieur to define a premium Chilean expression of the varietal.
Wine Description
This 100% Pinot Noir displays a deep ruby red colour and offers a high aromatic intensity. The bouquet is a complex blend of red fruits, cherry, and raspberry, layered with sophisticated notes of spices, tobacco, and a subtle forest floor earthiness. On the palate, the wine is silky and elegant, showcasing a refined concentration of fine tannins balanced by a vibrant acidity. Aged for 14 months in French oak (70% in barrels and 30% in foudres), the wine exhibits remarkable depth and a long, persistent finish.
Food Pairing
The elegant structure and vibrant acidity of this Pinot Noir make it an exceptional companion for roasted duck breast, grilled tuna, or delicate red meats. It also pairs seamlessly with earthy mushroom-based dishes and aged cheeses such as Gouda or Manchego.
