Compass Box Hedonism Felicitas is an exceptional limited-edition Blended Grain Scotch Whisky released in 2020 to celebrate the twentieth anniversary of Compass Box. Created by lead whiskymaker James Saxon, this commemorative expression brings together mature grain whiskies distilled across three decades at Port Dundas, Strathclyde and North British distilleries. Carefully selected components matured in refill sherry wood, first-fill bourbon barrels and recharred American oak deliver an elegant balance of creamy vanilla, orchard fruits, tropical sweetness and warming oak spice. Bottled at 53% ABV with natural colour and without chill filtration, Hedonism Felicitas showcases the remarkable richness and complexity of aged Scottish grain whisky. Limited to just 2,226 bottles worldwide, it is a distinctive celebration of Compass Box's pioneering approach to whisky blending.
Food Pairing: Pairs beautifully with vanilla panna cotta, crème brûlée, toasted coconut desserts, almond pastries and caramelized pear tart. Its creamy character also complements white chocolate, buttery shortbread, roasted macadamia nuts and mild, creamy cheeses.
Tasting Notes: An elegant and indulgent blended grain whisky featuring creamy coconut, vanilla, caramel, ripe orchard fruits and delicate warming spice. Layers of tropical fruit, toasted almonds and rich toffee contribute depth to its silky, expressive character.
Nose: Inviting aromas of creamy coconut, vanilla and caramel unfold alongside ripe apples, delicate orchard fruits and gentle cardamom spice.
Palate: Rich and beautifully textured, revealing muscovado sugar, creamy vanilla, almond and sweet green fruits. Hints of passion fruit, honeyed toffee and soft oak spice add complexity.
Finish: Soft, smooth and gently lingering, with creamy toffee, delicate fruit sweetness and subtle warming oak.
