Château Kirwan 2022 is a structured, rich, and concentrated Third Growth red wine from the Margaux appellation of Bordeaux. In the glass, it presents a deep, almost black garnet-purple hue. The expressive bouquet opens with intense aromas of ripe blackberry, mulberry reduction, and cassis, seamlessly layered with subtle floral notes of violet and iris, baking spices, dark chocolate, and an earthy, inky minerality. On the palate, it is medium- to full-bodied, rich, and fleshy, featuring a dense core of dark berry fruit framed by firm, silky tannins and a energetic, saline-edged acidity that provides remarkable balance through a long, linear, and focused finish.
Food Pairing: Pairs wonderfully with roasted rack of lamb, prime ribeye steak, duck breast with berry reduction, and aged hard cheeses.

This is flush with blackberry and mulberry reduction flavors, inlaid with violet, iris and ink notes. The inky edge adds a sense of tension through the finish, with snippets of iron, rose hip and black tea mixed in through the long, focused finish. A blend of 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 32% Merlot and the balance Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot, the 2022 Kirwan exhibits aromas of dark berries, cassis, sweet spices, pencil shavings and creamy new oak, followed by a medium to full-bodied, rich and fleshy palate that's unusually lively for the vintage, checking in at a pH of 3.55, a number that it would be impressive to attain on gravel soils in this vintage without acidification.
