Chiran Tea Chu Honkaku Shochu 750ml is a Japanese sweet potato and green tea shochu made by Chiran Distillery in Kagoshima Prefecture. Its ingredients bring together sweet potatoes, green tea and rice in one distinctive spirit. This offering is one 750ml glass bottle, rather than the six-bottle wholesale case recorded in the supplier workbook.
Master brewer-distiller Nobiru Mori created Chiran Tea Chu in 2017, drawing on locally grown green tea and sweet potato shochu. The importer describes earthy sweet potato character balanced by gentle tea astringency. Its technical sheet identifies atmospheric pot distillation, performed once, with the elegant aromatics of green tea complementing the roots of Kagoshima shochu.
Chiran Distillery has made sweet potato shochu since 1919 in Chiran Village, a noted green tea growing area. This expression highlights the connection between those regional ingredients without an age or cask-finish claim. Bottled at 25% ABV, or 50 proof, Chiran Tea Chu offers a clear introduction to this combination of Japanese distilling and tea traditions.
