Chateau Montelena Napa Valley Sauvignon Blanc is a classic Bordeaux-style white wine produced in limited quantities, often requiring a visit to the winery's tasting room to acquire. Crafted primarily from fruit sourced from 40-year-old vines in the cool Oak Knoll District of Napa Valley, the blend typically includes a portion of Sémillon to add roundness and "honeyed richness" to the zesty base. The winemaking process emphasizes fruit purity by avoiding malolactic fermentation, instead using a brief six-month aging period in a combination of French oak and acacia barrels to provide a creamy texture and subtle toasted notes.
