Crafted in the rising Castillon Côtés de Bordeaux appellation on the Right Bank of Bordeaux, France, Château Joanin Bécot is an exceptional, highly acclaimed estate owned and passionately managed by Juliette Bécot of the famed Bécot family (owners of Premier Grand Cru Classé Château Beau-Séjour Bécot in Saint-Émilion). Located on a continuous extension of Saint-Émilion’s legendary clay-limestone plateau, the 15-hectare vineyard benefits from high elevation, excellent natural drainage, and limestone bedrock root penetration. Dominated by old-vine Merlot complemented by structured Cabernet Franc, the estate practices meticulous sustainable farming and low-yield management. Vinified parcel-by-parcel in temperature-controlled oak and stainless steel tanks, the wine matures for 12 to 15 months in French oak barrels (approximately 65% new, with a portion aged in amphorae). The result is a vibrant, modern Right Bank red that seamlessly mirrors Saint-Émilion quality with generous dark berry fruit, silky limestone minerality, and incredible value.
Food Pairing: Prime dry-aged ribeye steak, roasted rack of lamb, braised beef short ribs, pork tenderloin with plum reduction, wild mushroom ragù, and aged hard cheeses like Comté or Gouda.
