Introduction
Château d'Esclans The Beach Rosé originates from France, within the Provence region and the Coteaux d'Aix-en-Provence subregion. Located northeast of St. Tropez, the magical estate was acquired in 2006 by Sacha Lichine, who is widely regarded as the architect of the 'Rosé Renaissance'. The winery's philosophy focuses on crafting the greatest rosés in the world, with this particular cuvée introduced as a fresh, playful, and approachable sibling to the famed Whispering Angel.
Wine Description
This rosé wine presents a clear, pale pink or soft coral hue and possesses a light-bodied structure. The sensory profile is highly expressive and forward, opening with an aromatic nose of red currants, wild strawberries, and white peaches, balanced by light floral undertones and subtle hints of lime and melon. On the palate, it delivers a refreshing, dry, and crisp experience where juicy red berry and citrus fruit flavours are supported by a vibrant energy and balanced acidity. The finish is clean, round, and persistent, leaving a lingering mineral-driven and peach-forward aftertaste.
Varietal Composition: A Mediterranean blend of Grenache, Cinsault, and Syrah.
Stylistic Notes: The wine is celebrated for its modern, easy-drinking complexity and ecological mindfulness, featuring an forward-thinking approach to environmental responsibility that utilizes lighter glass bottles to limit its carbon footprint.
ABV: 12.5%.
Organic Status: While the estate is dedicated to environmental responsibility and partnerships with ocean preservation organizations like the Surfrider Foundation, this commercial bottling is not certified organic.
Food Pairing
The crisp minerality, balanced acidity, and delicate fruitiness of The Beach Rosé make it an exceptional match for light, warm-weather gastronomy.
Seafood: Pairs phenomenally well with grilled shrimp skewers, smoked salmon salad, raw oysters, and light Mediterranean fish dishes.
Light Fare: An ideal choice for poolside sipping, it complements fresh arugula and avocado salads, antipasto platters, and light pasta dishes.
Cheese: Matches gracefully with mild charcuterie selections and soft cheeses.
