This red wine comes from France's Loire Valley, within the Touraine subregion, and is designated under the Bourgueil AOC appellation. Château de Minière is an estate dedicated to organic farming, led by Kathleen Van den Berghe, who focuses on a modern approach to Bourgueil traditions. The estate's philosophy emphasizes gentle winemaking with limited extraction to produce fresh, balanced wines that express the unique terroir.
The 'Équilibre' cuvée is a pure varietal, made from 100 per cent Cabernet Franc. It is sourced from the estate's younger vines, which are typically 30 to 40 years old. The wine displays a ruby colour with garnet reflections. The nose presents aromas of fresh red fruits. On the palate, the wine is described as round and full, with a fruity accent that supports a very lightly tannic structure. Stylistically, it is designed to be accessible, light, sincere, and expressed with harmony, making it a true gateway to Minière's red wines. The alcohol by volume (ABV) is 13.5 per cent. The grapes are grown on sand and sandy-clay soil, and the estate is certified organic. The optimal drinking window is generally considered to be up to five years.
