Carpano Antica Formula Vermouth
From Carpano, home of the first ever vermouth, this highly sought-after red vermouth is made to an original recipe dating from 1786.
Use Carpano Antica Formula vermouth in your Manhattans, cocktails will never be the same again.
- Medium-bodied but very characterful aromas from the nose
- Surprisingly intense and long-lasting on the palate
- The orange peel/marmalade, tea and oak flavours seem most prominent but with plenty of other fruit and herby spices behind
The numerous aromatic plants that go into the recipe are extracted by hot infusion or cold extraction methods. All of which are handed down through the centuries, depending on the raw material. These methods, along with the recipe itself, constitute the secret of this product.
Carpano Antica Formula Vermouth, with its rich profile of vanilla, dried fruits, spices, and herbs, pairs beautifully with a wide range of foods. Its sweet and complex character makes it a natural match for aged cheeses like Parmesan or Pecorino, as well as creamy blue cheeses such as Gorgonzola Dolce.
On a charcuterie board, it complements the saltiness of prosciutto or Jamon Iberico and pairs well with snacks like Marcona almonds or briny olives.
For dessert, dark chocolate truffles, tiramisu, or spiced biscotti highlight its warm, aromatic notes. Savoury dishes such as duck with a cherry glaze, mushroom risotto, or pate on toast also benefit from its depth and richness. Whether sipped neat or in a cocktail like a Manhattan or Negroni, Carpano Antica Vermouth enhances flavours and adds elegance to both simple bites and indulgent meals.
