This nine-year-old single malt hails from the Dailuaine Distillery, distilled in 2012 and subsequently enhanced with a finishing period in Sauternes wine casks before being bottled in 2021 by Càrn Mòr for their Strictly Limited series. Sauternes wine, celebrated for its distinctly bold and vibrant sweetness, lends its luscious characteristics to the whisky, enriching its flavor profile with a generous dose of sweetness.
Nose: The nose is greeted with the scents of anise and caramel, complemented by oat cakes, tangy citrus peels, and plums, creating a rich and inviting bouquet.
Taste: On the palate, the whisky unfolds layers of flavor, featuring more caramel along with root ginger, honey, and a subtle note of roasted almond, offering a complex and satisfying tasting experience.
Finish: The finish is delightfully sweet, reminiscent of cinnamon candies and vanilla essence, rounding off the tasting journey with a warm and comforting afterglow.
