With the CAO Pilon the CAO team has turned back the clock to 19th Century Cuba for inspiration. It was here the pilon method of fermenting tobaccos arose, which involved arranging tobacco leaves in meticulously constructed round stacks that allowed the leaves to develop more slowly, picking up deeper texture and taste along the way. Made in this manner, the CAO Pilon Toro is a stunner!
The CAO Pilon Box Pressed Toro is glorious 6.2” x 54 cigar that sports an Ecuadorian Habano Viso wrapper leaf with Nicaraguan binder and filler tobaccos hidden beneath. A cigar band with the cigars vital stats and a nostalgic image of a pilon sets off the beautiful cigar that will deliver an impressive hour and a half or so excursion.
The thick CAO Pilon Toro features an intensely complex mix of wood, pepper and spice flavors which draw the senses in with a silky medium-bodied start. Chewy cocoa nuances ride atop a pleasing earthiness as the final stretch takes on a subtly sweet and lively medium-to-full bodied character.
The CAO Pilon Toro is another winning cigar by the CAO all-stars and the fact that the signature of master blender Rich Rodriquez appears on every cigar band shows they have believe in their creation. The CAO Pilon is available in boxes of 20 drool-inducing sticks.
