Campagnola Amarone della Valpolicella Riserva is a red wine from Italy, produced in the Veneto region and the Valpolicella D.O.C.G. appellation. The wine is made by the Campagnola family, who have been dedicated to viticulture since 1886 and are now in their fifth generation. The winery's philosophy is rooted in tradition, with a dedication to the appassimento (drying) process that is essential to Amarone, resulting in wines of great concentration, structure, and longevity. The Riserva represents a selection of the best grapes and extended maturation.
Wine Description
The wine has an intense, dark garnet red colour. The aromatic profile is rich, intense, and complex, offering scents of dried plums, ripe cherries, black cherry preserve, and wild berries. Further notes include tobacco, dark chocolate, leather, liquorice, roasted almonds, and hints of spice.
The varietal composition is a traditional blend of Corvina, Rondinella, and Molinara. It is a full bodied wine. The palate is very warm, velvety, and elegant, with concentrated, raisined fruit flavours. The tannins are fine and harmonious, perfectly integrated with the wine's acidity and notable structure. Stylistically, it is a magnificent, powerful, and balanced wine with great concentration and a long life ahead.
Food Pairing
This classic Amarone pairs exceptionally well with rich, substantial dishes. Suggested pairings include braised beef, game dishes (such as venison or wild boar), roasts, and aged hard cheeses like Parmesan.
