The Caldwell Long Live the Queen Maduro Queen’s Crest may be the connoisseur’s choice in the Queen Maduro lineup. At a traditional 5½" x 46, it gives the dark Mexican San Andrés Maduro wrapper a more prominent role than the larger-ring vitolas, backed by an Indonesian Sumatra binder and aged fillers from the Dominican Republic and United States. The Maduro was developed as its own blend rather than simply placing a dark wrapper over the original Long Live the Queen, resulting in a richer, spicier interpretation with plenty of character beneath the surface.
The 46 ring gauge is where the Queen’s Crest really earns its keep. San Andrés brings dark cocoa, earth and a measured natural sweetness, while cedar, espresso, leather and roasted nuts develop underneath. There's pepper and strength in the blend, but the narrower proportions keep everything focused rather than heavy. Smoked slowly, the Crest has the balance and definition that make traditional ring gauges so appealing—plenty of richness, but with each component given room to be noticed.
For the seasoned Maduro smoker, Queen’s Crest is an especially compelling way to experience this blend. It delivers the darker character of Long Live the Queen without hiding the wrapper behind an oversized filler core. If 46-ring cigars are already part of your wheelhouse, put a few Queen’s Crests in the humidor—this is San Andrés in a format that lets the tobacco speak for itself.
