The Caldwell Long Live the Queen Maduro Queen’s Coronet brings the darker character of the Queen Maduro blend into a classic 5" x 50 Robusto—a size that puts the tobacco front and center. A rich Mexican San Andrés Maduro wrapper surrounds an Indonesian Sumatra binder and aged fillers from the Dominican Republic and United States. Unlike the Cameroon-wrapped original Long Live the Queen, the Maduro was developed as its own blend, giving the line more depth and weight while preserving the balance that makes the Queen distinctive.
The Robusto format is particularly well suited to the recipe. The San Andrés wrapper remains prominent, bringing dark cocoa, earth and natural sweetness, while the interior tobaccos add espresso, cedar, roasted nuts and a measured dose of pepper. At 50 ring, there's enough filler to give the cigar body without overwhelming the wrapper, resulting in a concentrated, medium-to-full smoke with richness rather than excess.
For a first look at Long Live the Queen Maduro, the Queen’s Coronet is an excellent place to start. The traditional 5 x 50 proportions showcase the San Andrés beautifully and deliver the darker side of the Queen without the commitment of a larger vitola. Pick up a few—this is the kind of well-balanced Maduro Robusto that can quickly earn a regular spot in the humidor.
