Bulletproof Original Cold Brew is a medium-roast, coarse-ground coffee blend crafted for smooth, low-acidity cold brewing at home.
This 12-ounce bag delivers a balanced medium roast with layered tasting notes—cinnamon, plum, and orange leading into a cocoa-hazelnut finish—prepared specifically as a coarse grind so you can steep cold brew without extra grinding. The beans are small-batch Arabica, Rainforest Alliance Certified, and screened for common contaminants to help you make cleaner coffee. Use the included brew ratio and steep time to batch-produce up to eight cups of concentrate or ready-to-drink cold brew that keeps in the fridge for several days.
How do I make Bulletproof Original Cold Brew at home?
Making cold brew with this coarse ground is straightforward and forgiving—mix, steep, strain, and chill. The recommended ratio gives a full-strength brew you can dilute or customize, and the coarse grind prevents over-extraction during the long steep.
- Stir 1.5 cups (about 128 g) of grounds into 8 cups filtered water in your container.
- Steep 12 hours at room temperature or in the fridge for milder flavor.
- Strain with cheesecloth, fine mesh, or paper filter and refrigerate.
- Makes roughly 8 cups total; dilute concentrate to taste or serve over ice.
What flavor profile should I expect from this medium roast?
The blend emphasizes smoothness with a complex midpalate: gentle spice and fruit notes precede a rounded chocolate and nutty finish. Because it’s formulated for cold brewing, acidity is muted and the texture is velvety when served chilled or over ice.
- Top notes: subtle cinnamon and bright orange hints.
- Midnotes: soft plum fruitiness for depth.
- Finish: cocoa and hazelnut that linger pleasantly.
- Coarse grind reduces harshness, making it great for cold brew or toddy methods.
How long will a batch keep, and how should I store it?
Cold brew made from this blend stores well in the refrigerator and stays drinkable for several days when kept cold and sealed. The dry grounds should be stored in a cool, dark place in their sealed bag or an airtight container to preserve freshness and aroma.
- Refrigerate finished cold brew; consume within 4–7 days for best flavor.
- Keep grounds away from heat, light, and moisture to maintain aroma.
- Use airtight tins or resealable bags once opened to slow staling.
- Label containers with brew date when batch-prepping for the week.
Is Bulletproof Original Cold Brew a sustainable or tested option?
Bulletproof sources small-batch Arabica beans and holds Rainforest Alliance certification on their blend, indicating attention to environmental and social practices. The coffee is also screened for common toxin contaminants associated with spoilage organisms to help you choose a cleaner base for everyday brewing.
- Small-batch Arabica beans used for consistent cup quality.
- Rainforest Alliance Certified sourcing for sustainability considerations.
- Tested for certain mold-related toxins to reduce unwanted contaminants.
- Coarse grind format eliminates need for additional equipment for cold brew.
Who this is for: This product suits anyone who prefers cold brew with lower perceived acidity and a smooth, layered flavor—busy coffee lovers who batch-prep, home baristas seeking a reliable coarse grind, and people who want a Rainforest Alliance–sourced Arabica option. If you like making iced coffee by the pitcher, appreciate nuanced medium roasts, or want a grind ready for long steep extraction, this 12-ounce bag is designed for convenient weekly brewing.
