Purity from the Ground Up
Bruichladdich Organic Barley 2012 is a single malt made with complete transparency and a deep respect for the land. Every grain of barley used in this expression was grown organically — sustainably farmed without synthetic pesticides or fertilisers, supporting soil health and biodiversity on the Scottish farms that supply the distillery. By tracing the whisky back to a specific harvest year, Bruichladdich makes a powerful statement about provenance: that what goes into the ground shapes what ends up in the glass.
The result is a whisky of extraordinary clarity and purity — the organic barley's natural character shining through with a freshness and elegance that conventional farming simply cannot replicate. Unpeated, non-chill filtered, and bottled without artificial colouring, this is Bruichladdich's commitment to craft and conscience in a single bottle.
- Nose: Fresh and inviting — creamy fudge, honeyed citrus, and a gentle floral sweetness with a clean, grain-forward purity that speaks directly to the organic barley
- Palate: Smooth and elegantly balanced — vanilla cream, ripe orchard fruit, and a subtle spice with a silky mouthfeel and a clarity of flavour that rewards slow sipping
- Finish: Clean and medium-length with lingering honey, citrus, and a warm, gentle grain sweetness
