Brave New Spirits Whisky of Voodoo Call of Crows is a richly expressive 13 Year Old Speyside single malt from Glen Elgin Distillery. Created as a small-batch vatting of whisky matured in first-fill Ruby Port and first-fill Tawny Port barriques, it is bottled at a robust 51.7% ABV.
The Port casks amplify Glen Elgin’s naturally fruity character, bringing layers of dark fruit, rich preserves, almond sweetness and warming spice. Released as Batch #3 of the imaginative Whisky of Voodoo series, Call of Crows combines mature Speyside malt character with an intensely fruit-driven Port influence.
Food Pairing: Pair with duck breast, aged Gouda, roasted almonds, dark chocolate, berry tart or dried-fruit desserts.
Tasting Notes: Rich and fruit-forward with dark berries, dried fruit, almond sweetness, liquorice and warming aromatic spice.
Nose: Pitted prunes and blackcurrant jam with frangipane, dark berries and sweet almond notes.
Palate: Full and richly textured with dark fruit preserves, salted liquorice, almond pastry and warming cardamom spice.
Finish: Long and fruit-driven with lingering Port sweetness, dark berries, liquorice and gentle spice.
