All the Bonavita Performance, Right-Sized for Smaller Households Most large-capacity coffee makers are a poor fit for smaller batches — they're designed to fill 8–12 cups, and anything less suffers for it. The Bonavita 5-Cup Thermal Carafe Coffee Brewer solves that problem directly. Engineered specifically for 3–5 cup brewing, it applies the same precision and SCA-certified brewing standards as Bonavita's popular 8-cup lineup, scaled down into a compact, counter-friendly footprint. If you live alone, brew as a couple, or simply prefer smaller, fresher batches throughout the day, this is the brewer the others weren't built for.
Showerhead Extraction, Pre-Infusion Bloom, One Button Under the hood is a 1100-watt heater that brings water to the optimal brewing temperature of 91°–96°C (195°–205°F) and holds it there for the entire brew — the precise window the SCA identifies for proper flavour extraction. The specially designed showerhead distributes water evenly across the coffee bed for uniform saturation, while the optional pre-infusion mode pre-wets your grounds before brewing begins, allowing CO₂ to degas and flavour compounds to fully develop. It's the bloom step that specialty coffee lovers do manually — automated into a single button press. A full 5-cup carafe is ready in approximately 6 minutes.
Compact, Stainless, and Genuinely Simple to Use The 1L double-walled stainless steel thermal carafe keeps coffee hot for hours after brewing without a warming plate — no scorched, bitter coffee sitting on a hotplate. The carafe, filter basket, and showerhead are all dishwasher-safe and BPA-free, making cleanup effortless. Uses standard #4 cone-shaped filters. At just 31cm tall with a slim profile, the BV1500TS fits comfortably in tighter kitchen spaces, apartments, dorm rooms, or anywhere that a full-size brewer simply takes up too much room.
