Blue Run Flight Series III Fit & Flair Blended American Whiskey belongs to the third Flight Series collection created by Blue Run’s Head of Whiskey. The producer describes the six expressions as micro-batch whiskeys built to study the contrast between the bourbon and rye grain profiles and the character that emerges when those liquids are married. Fit & Flair is the collection’s 117-proof expression, bottled at 58.5% ABV in a 750 mL format, with its individual profile defined by Blue Run’s exact-release tasting notes.
The nose opens with smoky, toasted aromas that Blue Run likens to nuts roasting over a summer campfire. On the palate, savory dry-roasted nuts meet candied dried fruit, followed by light drizzles of caramel and chocolate that bring sweetness to the whiskey’s roasted core. The texture carries those contrasting savory and confectionary elements into a decadent finish, where lingering caramel is joined by warm black-pepper spice. That progression gives Fit & Flair a clearly structured sensory arc: smoke and toast first, fruit and sweetness through the middle, then caramel and pepper at the close.
