Blue Run Blueprint Series Edition 1 Kentucky Straight Bourbon marks the beginning of an ambitious new chapter from Kentucky, crafted to explore bourbon beyond convention. Bottled at 52.5% ABV (105 proof), this inaugural release combines two distinct mash bills—an 80/15/0/5 bourbon alongside Blue Run’s experimental “Founders’ Mash” and a top-floor-aged wheated component. The result opens with soft florals and orchard fruit before unfolding into layers of juicy apple, baking spice, and warm cinnamon.
The finish lingers with toasted oak, subtle dry wood heat, and a silky warmth that balances bold character with surprising elegance. Rich yet approachable, this boundary-pushing Kentucky Straight Bourbon delivers complexity without sacrificing drinkability. Best enjoyed neat to explore its layered profile, over ice for added softness, or stirred into a refined Old Fashioned.
