Bladnoch 16 Year Old is a richly expressive Lowland single malt matured exclusively in Oloroso Sherry casks. Aged for 16 years and bottled at 46.7% ABV, this elegant expression showcases the depth of sherry-cask maturation while retaining Bladnoch’s distinctive Lowland character. Layers of dried fruit, rich fruit cake, chocolate and warming spice develop across the palate, complemented by orange peel and a gently drying oak finish.
Food Pairing: Pair with aged cheddar, roasted nuts, fruit cake, dark chocolate, sticky toffee pudding or dried fruits.
Tasting Notes: Rich and sherry-driven with dried fruits, sweet spices, dark chocolate and fruit cake supported by mature oak.
Nose: Wood spices, rich raisins and sultanas with hints of orange peel and chocolate.
Palate: Raisins and dried fruits lead into rich fruit cake, sweet cinnamon and chocolate.
Finish: Rich and long with lingering dried fruit, spice and a slightly dry finish.
