Handcrafted in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, by Black Fox Farm & Distillery, Mustard Gin celebrates the region’s agricultural roots by utilizing locally harvested mustard seed alongside estate-grown triticale spirit. Distilled in small batches, this innovative expression showcases a warm, savory, and nutty botanical profile that elevates traditional gin cocktails into distinctly savory creations.
Food Pairing: Charcuterie boards with cured meats, smoked brisket, sharp aged Cheddar, grilled sausages, oysters, or steak tartare.
Tasting Notes: Pale straw to light golden tint in appearance with a smooth, warm, and medium-bodied mouthfeel featuring subtle oiliness from the mustard seeds.
Nose: Intensely savory upfront with toasted mustard seed, earthy spice, and subtle nutty warmth, balanced by piney juniper and zesty citrus oils.
Palate: Richly savory and complex, leading with earthy mustard seed and mild peppery heat before opening up to crisp juniper, citrus zest, coriander, and prairie grain sweetness.
Finish: Long, warm, and dry with lingering notes of savory spice, mild cracked pepper, toasted grain, and subtle pine.
Serve: Serve over large ice cubes with premium tonic water or soda, garnished with a sprig of fresh rosemary, or use as a savory base for a Red Snapper or Bloody Mary.
