Big Horn Canadian Whisky offers solid value and classic Canadian whisky character—soft, grain-driven, and easygoing. It’s not a showpiece, but its gentle earthiness, caramel tones, and dry finish make it a serviceable choice for everyday sipping or mixing when you want a smooth, unobtrusive base.
Origins & Craftsmanship
Big Horn is a Canadian whisky bottling, 80-proof expression (40% ABV). It belongs to the Canadian whisky category, meaning it is mashed, distilled, and aged in Canada (minimum three years), in keeping with Canadian regulations for whisky labeling.
While details about its distillery or exact blend are not widely publicized, it is positioned in the market as an approachable, everyday Canadian whisky suitable for mixing or light sipping.
Tasting Profile
Nose:
Grainy aromas of cornmeal and rye flour sacks, tinged with light caramel and a pudding-like sweetness.
Palate:
Mild and supple — more texture than weight. Soft caramel and light grain sweetness, with subdued earthiness. The whisky doesn’t hit hard; it lets the flavor evolve gently.
Finish:
Dryish, medium in length, with slate and straw notes providing a subtle mineral or rustic edge, recalling aged field tones or dried grasses.
