An exceptional and highly limited single cask release, bottled exclusively for the Southern Ontario Sippers whisky club. Distilled in 2009 and matured for 16 years, this expression showcases Benromach's signature old-school, lightly peated Speyside spirit beautifully intertwined with the profound influence of a Super Tuscan wine cask. The premium Italian red wine wood imparts a luxurious layer of dark red fruits, robust tannins, and rich earthy spices that perfectly complement the distillery's gentle whisper of smoke.
Food Pairing: Hearty red meats such as a dry-aged ribeye or wild boar ragù, sharp aged pecorino cheese, and rich dark chocolate desserts with a touch of sea salt.
TASTING NOTES - A deep ruby-amber appearance with a rich, velvety texture that coats the glass and offers a full-bodied, mouth-warming experience.
NOSE - Bursting with dark cherries, crushed blackberries, and plum jam, balanced by antique leather, dark cocoa, subtle baking spices, and a delicate trail of earthy peat smoke.
FINISH - Exceptionally long and structured, leaving lingering notes of dry wine tannins, dark chocolate-covered espresso beans, and a fading, warming wood smoke.
SERVE - Best enjoyed neat to appreciate the complex interaction between the wine cask and the peated spirit, or with a few drops of water to open up brighter red berry notes and softer oak.
