Introduction:
Basil Hayden Kentucky Straight Bourbon is a refined, smooth, and approachable whiskey with a high-rye mash bill that delivers a perfect balance of spice and sweetness. First crafted in 1992 by Booker Noe as part of the Small Batch Collection, it pays tribute to whiskey pioneer Meredith Basil Hayden Sr., offering a lighter side of bourbon that still holds depth and character.
Tasting Notes:
-
Aroma: Charred oak layered with vanilla caramel and hints of dried fruit.
-
Palate: A rich blend of charred oak, brown sugar, a touch of black pepper, and a hint of dried fruit for added complexity.
-
Finish: Pleasant and lingering, with a warm charred oak fade and subtle fruit sweetness.
Pairing Suggestions:
