Autocrat Coffee Syrup 64 oz. is a concentrated, ready-to-mix coffee-flavored syrup used to make Rhode Island’s traditional coffee milk and to sweeten or flavor drinks and desserts.
Made by Autocrat, this 64-ounce jug contains a dark, sweet coffee concentrate developed for mixing with milk, coffee, or recipes that call for a robust coffee flavor without brewing. Widely recognized as the staple ingredient in Rhode Island coffee milk, it’s convenient for households, restaurants, and cafes that want consistent flavor and long shelf life compared with fresh-brewed coffee.
What does Autocrat Coffee Syrup taste like and how strong is the coffee flavor?
The syrup delivers a pronounced, sweet coffee profile with caramel and molasses notes balanced by mellow bitterness. It’s formulated so that a small amount adds a strong coffee character without the need for brewing, and sweetness is built into the syrup so you can skip added sugars if desired.
- Concentrated flavor that stands out when mixed with cold or hot milk.
- Sweetened base — fewer adjustments needed for dessert use.
- Complex undertones: caramel, toasted beans, and subtle dark-sugar notes.
How do I use this 64 oz. bottle for coffee milk, drinks, and recipes?
Mix a measured portion with milk for classic coffee milk, stir into coffee for a sweet mocha-style drink, or use as an ingredient in baking and frozen desserts. The syrup dissolves easily in both cold and hot liquids, making it versatile for quick beverages or incorporated culinary applications.
- Standard coffee milk: typically 1–2 tablespoons of syrup per 8 oz. milk, adjusted to taste.
- Hot drinks: add to brewed coffee or steamed milk for flavored lattes.
- Cooking: use in ice cream bases, sauces, glazes, or cakes for concentrated coffee flavor.
How does Autocrat Coffee Syrup 64 oz. store and what is its shelf life?
The large 64-ounce container is ideal for high-use environments and household stocking; unopened it stores well in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. After opening, refrigeration is recommended to maintain optimal flavor and quality over time, and the syrup’s concentrated sugar content helps extend shelf life compared with brewed coffee.
- Store unopened in a cool, dark pantry for best quality.
- Refrigerate after opening to preserve freshness and flavor.
- Check manufacturer label for exact best-by date and handling instructions.
Can this syrup replace brewed coffee in recipes or beverages?
Yes — Autocrat Coffee Syrup functions as a convenient substitute when a strong coffee flavor is needed without brewing. Because it’s already sweetened and concentrated, you may need to reduce added sugars in recipes and adjust liquid ratios slightly to maintain texture.
- Works well in no-brew cold beverages and as a flavoring in desserts.
- Reduce other sweeteners to avoid overpowering sweetness.
- Test small batch adjustments when substituting in baked goods for liquid balance.
