ASW Distillery Fiddler Georgia Heartwood Bourbon is a historic expression - the first straight bourbon ever distilled in the city of Atlanta. This Georgia-made bourbon showcases the unique character that comes from aging in Atlanta's hot, humid climate, creating a distinctive flavor profile unlike traditional Kentucky bourbon.
Tasting Profile
- Nose: Recognizable rick house funk amplified by Georgia's hot weather, dried fruit notes like prunes
- Palate: Intense honey infused with charred oak and laced with spices, unmistakable Georgia oak character
- Finish: Honey and syrupy notes give way to baking spices, then return to intense sweet oak that lingers
- Mash Bill: 51% Corn, 45% Wheat, 4% Malted Barley
- Proof: 118 (59% ABV) Cask Strength
What Makes It Special
Georgia's extreme temperature swings create accelerated aging conditions that produce a bourbon with more intense oak character and rick house funk than you'd find in cooler climates. The 22-stave barrel construction and wheated mash bill create a bourbon that's both powerful and approachable, with layers of honey sweetness balancing the bold oak influence.
This is a taste of Atlanta whiskey history - a bourbon that proves exceptional American whiskey can be made outside of Kentucky, with terroir and climate playing crucial roles in developing unique character.
