THE DESIGN
Port Saint Laurent is a fine black marble from Provence, in the south of France, threaded with warm veins of gold and amber that stand out vividly against its dark body. It has dressed refined interiors on both sides of the Mediterranean, equally at home in a classic or a contemporary setting.
THE CRAFT
The bowl is cut on a CNC and the outer edge is then split by hand, the same way the old stonemasons worked, so the raw, quarry-cut face is left exposed against the polished hollow. No two pieces break the same way, which makes each ashtray genuinely one of a kind. Every finishing pass after the cut is done entirely by hand.
THE RITUAL
Sized for company: a 20 cm bowl with extra rests for more than one cigar at a time, ideal for a shared smoke among friends. At 5 kg it stays absolutely planted on the table, and the deep hollow keeps ash and stubs well below the rim. Marble is the right material for the job beyond looks: it takes a lit cigar set down mid-smoke without scorching, and it does not hold odour between sessions the way ceramic and wood do.
SPECIFICATIONS
• Size: 20 cm × 20 cm × 5 cm • Weight: 5 kg • Material: solid marble • Finish: hand-split natural edge, hand-finished polished bowl • Rests cut for a 50–54 ring gauge • Made in Italy • Made to order: allow 2–4 weeks from the atelier plus transit to Canada • Ships in fabric packaging inside a protective case
WHO THIS IS FOR
• A lounge table, a terrace or a cigar room where more than one cigar burns at once • A centrepiece rather than an accessory • A match for a Litolite table lighter in the same stone
CARE
Clean the polished bowl with a soft, barely damp cloth only — acidic and limescale products etch polished stone permanently. The split faces are meant to stay raw and need no treatment. Handmade from natural materials: expect gentle variation in veining and tone from the photograph.
AUTHENTICITY GUARANTEED
Litolite — handcrafted in Bassano del Grappa, Italy. Imported directly from the atelier by El Laguito Cigars.
