Crafted in collaboration with AJ Fernandez, the Artesano del Tobacco El Pulpo line has quickly become one of the most talked-about full-bodied cigars on the market. Wrapped in a dark and oily Mexican San Andrés Maduro wrapper over rich Nicaraguan binder and fillers, El Pulpo delivers an incredibly bold, complex smoking experience packed with notes of espresso, dark chocolate, earth, pepper, cedar, and creamy mocha.
“El Pulpo,” Spanish for “The Octopus,” is an appropriate name for this blend — once it grabs your palate, it doesn’t let go. Handmade at AJ Fernandez’s famed San Lotano factory in Nicaragua, these cigars are known for their exceptional construction, slow burn, thick creamy smoke output, and rich maduro sweetness balanced by peppery Nicaraguan strength.
From the thick and flavorful Robusto Grande and Toro Grande to the highly sought-after Belicoso Grande and newer releases like “The Fry,” “The Eel,” and “The Squid,” every vitola showcases the blend in a unique way while maintaining the signature El Pulpo profile cigar enthusiasts have fallen in love with. Expect deep notes of cocoa, coffee, roasted nuts, leather, dark fruit, and spice throughout the smoking experience.
If you love rich San Andrés maduros with tons of flavor, strength, and complexity, El Pulpo is an absolute must-smoke and one of the standout boutique blends to come out of Nicaragua in recent years.
