Arran Signature Series Edition 3: Duero Discovery is a limited 12 Year Old single malt Scotch whisky personally selected and signed by Distillery Manager Stewart Bowman. This unpeated expression spent its first six years maturing in first- and second-fill Bourbon barrels before being transferred to first-fill Spanish red-wine casks from the Duero region for a further six years in Lochranza's dunnage Warehouse No. 4. Bottled at 50% ABV, it combines Arran's vibrant fruit character with rich red berries, vanilla, toasted oak and warming spice.
Food Pairing: Pair with roast duck, grilled pork, aged cheeses, charcuterie, toasted hazelnuts or berry-based desserts.
Tasting Notes: Full-bodied and fruit-forward with caramelized fruit, hazelnut, red berries, creamy vanilla and toasted oak accented by ginger and sweet spice.
Nose: Bright caramelized fruit and hazelnuts with salted caramel and fresh grapefruit rind.
Palate: Full-bodied with dark red berries, creamy vanilla and oak, followed by ginger, sweet spice and aniseed.
Finish: Long and mouthwatering with vanilla, toasted oak and lingering candy-like sweetness.
