Crafted in the Philippines and matured with care, Archipelago Barrel Reserve Gin begins its life as a classic gin, then takes an elevated turn through aging in new American oak barrels with a medium long toast. This barrel treatment draws out rich character from the wood, layering warm depth onto a spirit already built on bright, tropical botanicals. The result is a unique gin that carries the complexity of a brown spirit while remaining true to its botanical roots.
On the nose, this gin opens with citrus peel, cardamom, and a hint of cinnamon, followed by peppery warmth that hints at the oak's influence. The palate is lush and textured, with notes of juniper, citrus, and vanilla interwoven with pomelo and subtle floral tones. Oak and spice carry through, deepened by the natural sweetness from toasted caramel and a final whisper of cinnamon that lingers on the finish.
With an ABV of 45%, this spirit is robust enough to stand on its own yet smooth enough for sipping neat or over a large ice cube. Archipelago Barrel Reserve Gin also adds a unique twist to classic cocktails like a Negroni or Old Fashioned, offering a distinctly Filipino perspective on aged gin.
