Tasting notes: Blackberries, Red Apple, Florals
Kamavindi Farm was founded by John Njiru Mbature in 1958. The 20-hectare estate began with 100 seedlings under colonial-era planting restrictions, then expanded after those limits were lifted. Today, Peter Mbature manages the farm with his mother, Hellen Weveti, and his sister, Gladwell Wanjira.
This washed AA lot combines varieties grown at Kamavindi and was separated and managed by Peter’s team. After pulping, the parchment underwent two controlled fermentation stages with washing between them, followed by 14 to 18 days of drying in a temperature-monitored room.
