Amador Double Barrel Cabernet Finish is a Kentucky bourbon from Amador Whiskey Co.. It is distilled in Bardstown from a mash of 72% corn, 13% rye and 15% barley and aged three years in new charred American oak. It then rests 9 to 12 months in medium-toast French oak barrels that held Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, and it is bottled at 90 proof.
Expect vanilla, caramel and toast with a hint of tart black cherry, then a silky palate with crème brûlée notes. The finish is long and gently spiced.
Sip it neat, try it in a Manhattan, or pair it with grilled steak. It suits Kentucky bourbon fans who enjoy wine-finished whiskeys.
