This traditional aquavit originates from Denmark, produced on the Baltic island of Bornholm by De Bornholmske Spritfabrikker. The distillery honors recipes dating back to 1855, capturing the rich heritage of Danish snaps production. Crafted from neutral grain spirit infused with classic Scandinavian botanicals, this expression reflects the historic style of island distillation that has been enjoyed across Nordic tables for over a century and a half.
Spirit Description
This aquavit displays a pale straw gold to bright amber tint in the glass. The nose opens with a sharp, highly aromatic blast of intense caraway seed and aromatic dill, followed by subtle undertones of anise, dried citrus peel, and gentle earthiness. On the palate, it is light to medium-bodied with a crisp, dry texture. Dominant flavours of warm caraway and herbaceous dill take center stage, supported by soft hints of lemon zest, fennel, and light pepper spice. The finish is clean, warm, and lingering, leaving a dry, refreshing trail of savory spice and herbal oils. Bottled at an ABV of 42%, it offers a robust, traditional, and palate-cleansing profile.
