The Aberlour 18 Year Old Double Sherry Cask is a majestic, deeply layered, and rich Speyside single malt Scotch whisky that celebrates the supreme influence of premium sherry seasoned wood. It pours a stunning deep mahogany hue with ruby highlights in the glass, lifting with an immediate, opulent bouquet of juicy rum-soaked raisins, plum jam, and sweet toffee buns, seamlessly layered with complex undertones of orange zest, fresh cherries, and dark chocolate. On the palate, this full-bodied single malt is remarkably velvety, oily, and smooth, coating the mouth with pure intensities of ripe apricot, dark stone fruits, liquorice root, and freshly grated nutmeg. Matured expertly for eighteen years and fully finished in a combination of first-fill Spanish Oloroso and sweet Pedro Ximénez sherry butts, its structural crunch balances mature oak tannins with a syrupy sweetness, carrying into a long, warming finish accented by a lingering touch of cocoa, warm baking spices, and lasting fruit clarity.
Food Pairing: Pairs beautifully with decadent, savory, or highly rich culinary choices, including slow-braised duck or pork belly, venison pie, high-quality dark chocolate-covered ginger, roasted lamb cutlets, artisanal nutty cheeses like well-aged Gouda, and intense blue cheeses.
