Ocean is the flagship "West Coast" Pale Ale from Vancouver’s 33 Acres Brewing Company. Known for their minimalist aesthetic and high-quality standards, the brewery crafted this beer to be as clean and refreshing as the Pacific shoreline. It is designed to bridge the gap between a traditional English Pale Ale and a modern West Coast IPA offering a distinct hop presence and a refined, dry finish that has made it a staple in the British Columbia craft scene.
Beer Description
This Pale Ale pours a bright, crystal-clear golden hue with a dense, persistent white head and moderate carbonation.
Aroma: It features a crisp and inviting nose. Expect prominent notes of floral grapefruit and forest pine, supported by a subtle, honey-like malt sweetness and a hint of herbal spice.
Palate: On the tongue, it is light-to-medium bodied and exceptionally balanced. It leads with a delicate, toasted biscuit malt flavor that is quickly followed by a wave of citrusy hop character. The finish is notably dry and clean, with a refined bitterness that refreshes the palate.
Profile: It has a sessionable ABV of 5.3% and a moderate bitterness of 40 IBU, making it a highly versatile beer that pairs well with a variety of foods or stands perfectly on its own.
Technical Notes: Brewed with a blend of premium base malts and a selection of classic Pacific Northwest hops. The brewing process emphasizes a clean fermentation and a precise hop schedule to ensure the floral and citrus aromatics are bright and forward without being cloying or overly aggressive.
